Credit Card for Women - Friend or Foe?

Everyone probably has a friend or a neighbor who had been overcharged on a credit card or got into a trouble with plastics. But obviously, credit cards have lots of advantages and bring convenience to our lives. You just need to be careful about using them and restrict yourself. A credit card is issued under the agreement between you and the credit card company. This agreement means that you can borrow money from the lending company with a condition that you will pay it back in future.

A credit card company (like Visa or MasterCard) is responsible for providing the money you need, and you have to return the payment back over a certain period of time, including the additional charges based on the annual rate of interest. Nothing is more convenient than credit cards, especially for women. Say, you are shopping for the pair of shoes to match your new dress but you don't have any funds at the moment. But if you have your card, you can get anything you wish right now. Credit cards give you this freedom. Besides, many of the online shops accept, for the most part, credit card payments. Credit cards are perfect for emergencies as well. Imagine your car breaks down and you need money to get it fixed. Or maybe there is some family emergency and you can't reach the bank. Owning a credit card can make the life of a woman easier and less stressful. Credit cards are also good for budget management. If you put all the bills on a credit card, it will help you to keep a track of your expenditures. If your card was damaged, lost, broken, or identity theft has occurred, you can always report it and cancel. The card will be replaced for you in a few days. They are also perfect for business and leisure travel (there are business credit card offers and cards with travel rewards). If you are travelling across and outside US, credit cards make it much easier.

However, the comfort of using plastics may turn into a nightmare. If you haven't been careful in watching your spending and got into a credit debt, you will start to get notices from credit issuers. Remember, that trying to avoid the creditors is not a solution. In fact, it will cause you much serious problems. If you are having a trouble paying off your credit debts, contact your credit card issuer as soon as possible. Explain the reasons why do you fail to pay off the debts and ask for a revised payment plan for you. There are laws for debt collectors that assign how they should act when dealing with debtors. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act clearly states the regulations for credit debt collectors. If you managed to obtain an improved repayment plan of your debt, creditors may approve, modify and accept it. Credit cards may make your life either easier, or harder. It's up to you what it will be. Learn how to be smart about credit cards and enjoy the outstanding convenience.
